Plant theft is a £1m-a-week problem in the UK
Construction plant theft costs the UK industry over £1m every week, and recovery rates without a tracker sit below 5%. Insurers have responded by making CESAR registration plus a Thatcham-approved tracker the minimum spec for cover on any machine over roughly £5,000 value.
Our standard plant install pairs a self-powered IP67 tracker with full CESAR registration and tamper-evident datatag, hidden in a position chosen to survive jet-washing and routine maintenance. For higher-value machines and hire fleets we fit fully-monitored Thatcham systems with a UK secure control centre and active recovery on movement out of authorised hours.
We come to your yard, depot or active site with full mobile workshop and can install a whole fleet across a working week. WhatsApp the machine list and base postcode for a same-day quote and earliest slot.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between CESAR and Thatcham for plant?+
CESAR is the construction-industry equipment registration scheme — every tracker we fit to plant is registered on CESAR with a tamper-evident datatag. Thatcham approval is the underlying insurance standard. Most plant insurers require both: CESAR registration plus a Thatcham-approved tracker.
Does the tracker work without ignition feed?+
Yes. Plant trackers we fit are self-powered with a long-life internal battery (2–5 years depending on reporting frequency) plus an optional machine-battery feed for live tracking when the plant is in use. Works in compounds with no mains power.
Can it survive site conditions?+
Yes. We use IP67/IP69K-rated trackers designed for vibration, water ingress, pressure-wash and the temperature swings plant lives in. Concealment positions are chosen to survive jet-washing and routine maintenance.
What plant do you fit to?+
Mini-diggers, full-size excavators (JCB, Komatsu, Hitachi, Kubota, Bobcat), dumpers, telehandlers, rollers, generators, welfare units, site cabins, tool stores and high-value attachments.
How much does plant tracker installation cost?+
Self-powered plant tracker from £349 fitted including CESAR registration. Fully-monitored Thatcham plant tracker with 24/7 secure control centre from £499 plus annual subscription (£150–£200).
Can you fit on-site at a depot or compound?+
Yes. We come to your yard, depot or active site anywhere in the UK with full mobile workshop. Single machine or whole fleet — WhatsApp the postcode and machine list for a same-day quote.
